You would have enjoyed it a lot Ishamael, but we are counting on you for next year !

nabla2003-08-15, 17:06:02
All pictures here are now classified. Still to do : treating the colours (making them a little less blue), cutting some of Marv's pictures (files of 5 pictures each), adding some comments. What about zola's pictures ?

Ishamael2003-08-15, 16:32:16
Great Pictures! And congrats with organising another great gathering!

Though now i am really disappointed i could not make it ;)

nabla2003-08-14, 13:27:01
Tournament results are posted, half of the pictures are classified, and still working...

Marv2003-08-14, 08:23:03
By the way, rumor has it that Frengo liked the bugging so much that he considers having a gathering in Pisa by the end of this year! I will put something online on www.bughouse.info soon to see wether or not there is any interest but personally i am convinced that there will be more than enough bug addicts to justify another gathering this year 8^)

Notice that Pisa is a ryan Air destination...

nabla2003-08-13, 15:32:03
Cool gathering ?? Geneva has never been that hot !
I enjoyed the gathering very much ; even though the FICS presence has been a little below average, it for once was compensated by local presence, especially on Sunday and Monday in the park.

Thanks a lot to all participants for making the event a lot of fun, congrats to Daniel and Philippe for winning the tournament, and condoleances to Robert for missing it.

I am currently working on the site update. For the moment, the only links working are the list of participants and the pictures - all my pictures are there but neither colour-treated, neither classified.

MiRU2003-08-13, 13:50:37
A pity I couldn't make it.

It is very likely that I will be in Offenbach für the Soccer Derby on Aug,30

Marv2003-08-12, 21:19:50
Another COOOOOOOL geneva gathering with BUGBUGBUGBUG. Thanks a lot Fabrice, Wayra (+Family, of course - esp. Grandma), Rodolphe&Mercy(sp?)&Family, and all other participants for a great time. Also many thanks Zola for driving me to Zurich when you could have played on for some more minutes ;^)

Georg, as i hear there is another mini gathering scheduled for frankfurt at end of august. See you there maybe! 8^)

Tecumseh (Georg)2003-08-11, 13:08:06
Hi people,

hope you had a great time !!! Too bad I couldnt make it. See you next year at the latest - or earlier if any of you Geneva guys is in the Stuttgart/Frankfurt region in the next weeks ?

Cosinus / Ralfizoller2003-08-07, 18:53:18
confirmation: we are now in Zurich, leaving for Geneva Friday afternoon. Open question to be answered tonight is only how we get to Geneva:
Zola ?, Yankadi ?????, rental car or by rail ...
will be a great / hot gathering!

nabla2003-08-06, 12:00:34
I'm very sorry Robert. I hope that you will feel better on Friday and keep my fingers crossed.

MiRU2003-08-06, 11:05:41
Hi,

currently I am suffering from an inflammation of my throat. I still hope I ll make it to leave on friday to Zurich, but I am not sure.

Robert

nabla2003-08-03, 00:17:48
ludeo will come on Sunday.

nabla2003-08-02, 00:47:18
I got the confirmation by nonspiego, saying that he would not come.

nabla2003-07-31, 10:01:10
I am also waiting for the confirmation by nonspiego, who recently told me that he would come.

nabla2003-07-31, 09:38:02
Thank you Marv. And no need to tell, I'll put you in the "bugging all night" category :-)

Do you know if cosinus is coming too ? I've had no confirmation from him.

Marv2003-07-31, 08:55:32
Arrival Friday with Zola and RalfiZoller; departure Sunday, gotta get to Zurich until i think 19:00 or so somehow, no vacation on monday 8^(

P.S.: Partner anyone? 8^)

MiRU2003-07-28, 13:00:30
To sleep or to bug - two tempting options :)
I guess I would rather sleep, especially since I am supposed to drive all day long. But who knows what I ll do when I m there ;-)

nabla2003-07-27, 14:50:49
Now that I think about it : for those who didn't already, don't forget to tell me your days of arrival and departure.

I would also like to know which of you prefer to bug all night long, and which prefer to sleep at night. This way I can despatch people in a better way between the places to sleep.

nabla2003-07-27, 14:45:41
I knew that I could count on you Philippe :-) No problem about your accommodation, there are still some places free.

Zola2003-07-27, 12:26:45
Hi folks!

I have read rumours that I would come to the outstanding Geneva Gathering... And luckily I can confirm these rumours to be true :-)

So count Zola in!

Actually, I will arrive at Friday evening and have (unfortunately) to leave at Sunday afternoon.

It would be very nice if some place to sleep would be available for me :-)

And not to forget: thanks nabla for organizing this very nice event again!

nabla2003-07-21, 18:22:58
If I understood them well, as for FICS players we should count on you, Marv, Tjeulesbetes, zola, RalfiZoller, cosinus, frengo, pagloppaglop, clanelle. Plus of course some local players already announced.
Anybody who should be on this list but isn't, or is but shouldn't, sorry about my mistake and please correct me !

MiRU2003-07-21, 16:18:59
So who is currently on the list of participants?

nabla2003-07-21, 14:15:00
Unfortunately, marcusm just told me that he would not be able to come.

nabla2003-07-18, 17:56:03
The day you will tell me that you can't practice OTB bug for technical reasons, I will be really worried about you Robert :-)

MiRU2003-07-18, 17:53:24
Greetings strangers,

for technical reasons, I cant practice bughouse over the internet, but suppose that otb bughouse in geneva will be much better :-)

Aloha!
Robert

tjeulesbêtes !2003-07-18, 13:54:52
>I thought the spineless-joe rules were no-drop-check :-)

true !!!

hi3000!

tjeulesbêtes !2003-07-18, 13:53:45
>may play 5 minutes, otherwise they will not enjoy it.

oh, you think that they will enjoy better if they are mated while their opp still has 4.40 left ?

;-)

nabla2003-07-18, 13:50:24
I thought the spineless-joe rules were no-drop-check :-)

tjeulesbêtes !2003-07-18, 13:48:09
ok, at least it's touch-move rules. this is not spineless-joe-like.

nabla2003-07-18, 13:46:03
As usual, on agreement of the players before the tourn, we will play 3 minutes. But if some beginners are there we may play 5 minutes, otherwise they will not enjoy it.

tjeulesbêtes2003-07-18, 13:42:55
I noticed that you seem to stick to that spineless-joe time-control of 5min/game.

In Berlin, they opted this year for 3min games as they realized that it makes it easier to organize (except if you have a partner who insist on smoking a cigarette between each round), allows to play more games, and reduces sitting.

tjeulesbêtes !2003-07-18, 13:39:31
winneeeeers !

nabla2003-07-09, 17:42:33
frengo will probably come for the Sunday evening and Monday as he will play a tournament in Grenoble in the week-end. Maybe he will also come to the barbecue Friday evening.

nabla2003-07-02, 10:37:15
Next year=2004 ??

vipiu2003-07-01, 22:38:47
I hope next year I will be able to come too...

nonspiego2003-05-19, 10:52:57
I hope i will be there!

nabla2003-05-11, 09:24:09
pagloppaglop and clanelle posted a message to announce their venue, but I moved this one to the french forum.

krat2003-05-05, 18:59:08
Hi there

thx for the invitation!
unfortunately I can't come to the Gathering cause of a time conflict with a swiss chess camp
...hmm, whats bughouse actually again? :-)

nabla2003-05-02, 15:09:34
If we count Marv, MiRU, RalfiZoller, Tjeulesbetes and me, we already have a gathering :-)
More to come, without doubt...

Robert2003-05-01, 23:40:14
Thank you for your invitation Fabrice, I will gladly join the 2003 Geneva Gathering. :-)

See you in August
Robert

nabla2003-05-01, 21:41:28
Great, Marv ! A Bughouse Gathering without you is not 100% a Bughouse Gathering.

Marv2003-05-01, 20:41:44
Hey Nabla,

do i get to put the first post on here? Well i wanted to say that i was very glad to hear the Geneva gathering will happen again and this time, i am very optimistic that i can make it as the low-cost-airlines are growing and there are routes from Berlin to Geneva nowadays. OK so i will have to brush up my 5 french words!

Congrats to the new pion.ch features too!

Greetings,
Daniel
